Our Story

My name is Krystal Shamar — though most people know me as Samara. Samara came from Shamar: I removed the h and added an a. It softened the sound, shaped the name into something that finally felt like me. One day, I’ll make it official — Krystal Samara.

I was born in Fort Worth, Texas and spent most of my childhood growing up in Grandview and Alvarado. Those years shaped me — small-town roots, strong family ties, and a deep appreciation for community. I was curious, creative, and always drawn to the kitchen. Baking became my safe place long before I understood why.

Around the age of sixteen, my life shifted. I moved to Arkansas, where I would eventually earn my degree from National Park Community College. That chapter pushed me to grow up quickly — to learn independence, resilience, and how to stand on my own feet while still holding onto who I was at my core.

My journey hasn’t been linear or easy. I am a recovered addict, and rebuilding my life has been one of the hardest and most meaningful things I’ve ever done. Bite Me Goodies and the Goodieverse were born out of that rebuilding — created with intention, honesty, and a commitment to doing things differently. This business isn’t just what I do; it’s part of how I heal.

I believe in showing up as my whole self — the strong parts, the soft parts, and the lessons learned the hard way. Every donut, every recipe, every project carries that truth. I don’t believe in perfection. I believe in growth, accountability, and creating something real.

The Goodieverse is still young. There are many projects in the works — creative, educational, community-driven — and I’m excited to keep opening the doors and inviting people inside. This is only the beginning.

My family is the heartbeat of everything I create. Behind every donut, every late night, every new flavor, and every dream I chase — they are the reason I keep going. They are the foundation of my Goodieverse, the anchor that keeps my world steady.

Robert, my soon-to-be husband, is my perfect match in every way. He is my rock — the strength, calm, and quiet power that holds our family together like a true Superman. His love is patient, steady, and unconditional. I never understood what a lifelong partnership could look like until I experienced it with him. He reminds me every day that love can be both strong and soft at the same time.

Lexi — my first, our NaNa — She's 18 in March! She is my artistic, expressive, extra little pixie side of life — blooming into her own strength and voice. She’s got the heart of an artist and the soul of a dreamer. Watching her grow reminds me why creating fearlessly matters.

CJ, our bubba, is 16 — strong-willed, hardheaded, and hilariously sarcastic. He’s the kind of son who will argue a point just to prove his heart’s in the right place. Underneath all that fire, he’s deeply loving and protective — the kind of brother anyone would be lucky to have.

And Lulu, our fiery 3 year-old — she’s the spark. Wild, bold, and unapologetically herself, she brings chaos and joy in equal measure. I dreamed the Goodieverse for her. I wanted her to grow up in a world that believed in sweetness, imagination, and possibility. Every storybook touch, every magical donut, every adventure inside this brand exists so she can know that her mother dreamed in color for her future.

Brandon and I chose each other as family over a decade ago — and we have been ever since. He isn’t just my brother; he’s my best friend, my constant, and one of the strongest people I know. Family isn’t always defined by blood — sometimes it’s defined by showing up, every single time.

In 2024, Brandon was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. It changed everything — overnight. We faced it head-on together, and he has now completed both chemotherapy and radiation treatment. We are hopeful, encouraged, and waiting for positive results as he continues healing.

As his sister, I’ve walked beside him through every appointment, every hard day, and every moment that required strength we didn’t even know we had. During that time, my priority was clear: family first — always.

Today, I’m grateful to say I’m back up and running — and in a place where I can do both. I can care for the people I love and continue building Bite Me Goodies with intention, heart, and hope.
